The Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign will celebrate Pride Month as its 89 yellow lights transform into rainbow colors during a ceremony on Monday, June 9 at 8:30 a.m. Clark County Commissioner Justin Jones and representatives of the LGBTQ Center of Southern Nevada will hold a brief ceremony at the sign on the Las Vegas Strip, flipping the switch to illuminate the rainbow display around the sign's perimeter.

“Lighting the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign in pride colors is more than symbolic—it’s a statement that in Clark County, everyone belongs,” said Commissioner Justin Jones. “Pride Month is a time to honor the courage, resilience, and contributions of our LGBTQ+ community. As we celebrate love, visibility, and progress, we stand united against hate and discrimination in all its forms. I’m proud to partner with the LGBTQ Center of Southern Nevada, whose advocacy and compassion continue to shape a more inclusive future for all who call Southern Nevada home.”

The iconic 25-foot sign, designed by Betty Willis in 1959, stands on the Las Vegas Strip south of Russell Road. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009, the Googie-style landmark continues to welcome visitors to Las Vegas while celebrating the community's diversity and pride. The sign, like the rest of the Las Vegas Strip, is located in unincorporated Clark County.
