Clark County Commissioner April Becker will host a special ceremony at the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign on Wednesday, June 10, at 10 a.m. to celebrate the Vegas For Athletes Summer Games and National Outdoors Day. The iconic landmark will be illuminated in red to honor the organization's commitment to youth athletics and life-saving cardiac health screenings for student-athletes across Clark County.

“Youth athletes across Southern Nevada deserve every opportunity to compete, grow and thrive — and they deserve to do so safely,” said Commissioner April Becker. “Clark County is proud to recognize the Vegas For Athletes Summer Games and National Outdoors Day, shining a light on an organization that has identified life-threatening cardiac conditions in student-athletes throughout our community at no cost to their families.”

“The Vegas For Athletes Summer Games represents much more than competition,” said Troy Roques, Executive Director, Vegas For Athletes. “It is about bringing our community together to celebrate youth sports, health, and opportunity while continuing our mission to provide free heart screening opportunities for student-athletes throughout Southern Nevada.

Vegas For Athletes, a Southern Nevada nonprofit, has screened more than 1,300 local student-athletes, identifying 44 heart abnormalities — including seven life-threatening conditions — all at no cost to families. The Vegas For Athletes Summer Games, an Olympic-inspired citywide youth sports competition and festival, is scheduled for June 22–26, 2026.
