On Monday, June 16 construction will begin for the Las Vegas Blvd Project Phase C & D. This 2-year-long project involves the installation of replacement waterline for the Las Vegas Valley Water District along Las Vegas Boulevard between Russell Road and Tropicana Avenue. The $60 million project also includes roadway resurfacing, traffic signal modifications, lighting and power upgrades, and bollard installation for pedestrian safety.
Motorists should be advised that for the duration of construction, lanes and intersections in the project area will be periodically restricted or closed. Project details and updates, including a schedule of upcoming lane restrictions, can be found on the Clark County website at Las Vegas Boulevard Phase C & D – Clark County Public Works. Additionally, message boards within the project corridor will advise motorists and residents of upcoming changes in traffic patterns. The first traffic restrictions will be overnight lane reductions on southbound Las Vegas Boulevard starting June 16. Construction hours will be Monday-Thursday between 12 a.m. and 9 a.m., and Friday between 12 a.m. and 8 a.m.
Motorists should use caution while traveling through work zones and take alternate routes when possible. Due to the fluid nature of roadwork, the public is reminded that construction schedules and travel impacts can change on short notice, and they are advised to check navigation apps such as Waze, Google Maps or Apple Maps for real-time information.
