Applications are being accepted through Thursday, August 28 for volunteers interested in filling a vacancy on the five-member Colorado River Heritage Greenway Park Trail Advisory Council. Due to a recent vacancy, the County is seeking one qualified volunteer to join the four current members serving on this important community council.

The Advisory Council, created by the Clark County Commission in 2024, makes recommendations about matters involving recreation and economic development in the roughly two miles of park land fronting the Colorado River in Laughlin.

“We are looking for a dedicated community member who shares a commitment to preserving and enhancing this valuable recreational resource,” said Clark County Commissioner Michael Naft, whose district includes the area. “This Advisory Council member will have a meaningful opportunity to help shape the future of one of our region's most cherished outdoor spaces.”

The Advisory Council broadly represents the diverse interests and needs of the recreational community in unincorporated Clark County as it relates to planning, maintaining, and protecting recreation in the Colorado River area. The goal is to advise and make recommendations to Clark County regarding recreation that also meets the County's interests and needs pertaining to future economic growth and development while minimizing impacts where possible to recreation in the Colorado River area.

The group also helps facilitate programs that take place in the park, including the annual Wings and Wildlife Festival and events on National Public Lands Day. Additionally, it assists with community service and outreach events, including cleanups and promoting safety and education.

The selected Advisory Council member will serve the remainder of the three-year term. The position, which is unpaid, is expected to be appointed by the Clark County Commission on October 21, 2025.

How to Apply: To apply, candidates must submit a completed application form along with a resume and letter of interest. All materials must be received by 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 28, 2025. Applications are available at www.ClarkCountyNV.gov or by emailing administrative.services@clarkcountynv.gov. Submit completed applications by email to administrative.services@clarkcountynv.gov or deliver to Clark County Administrative Services, 500 S. Grand Central Pkwy., Las Vegas, NV 89155.
