Commissioner William McCurdy II will host two free Back-to-School Fairs next week, giving families access to school supplies, dental and vision assessments, and — new this year — free vaccines and sports physicals ahead of the 2026-27 school year.

The fairs will take place:

Admission is free, and no registration is required. Families are encouraged to arrive early, as school supplies and giveaways will be distributed while supplies last. Students must be present to receive supplies.

“Every child deserves to start the school year ready to learn, and that starts with good health,” said Commissioner McCurdy II. “These fairs make sure families in our community have easy, free access to the vaccines, screenings and supplies their kids need before the first day of school.”

University Medical Center (UMC) will also be on-site at both events, providing booster seats, bike helmets and bike lights to help keep children safe as they head back to school. Hope Christian Health Center will provide all school-required vaccines except for polio. Families should bring an insurance card and immunization records. The Clark County Mobile Unit will offer dental and vision screenings on a first-come, first-served basis.

Last year, the fairs served roughly 3,000 to 4,000 children combined, with 1,500 to 2,000 served at each site.
