Commissioner Michael Naft and Clark County’s Public Arts Office will dedicate the next series of the ZAP! Utility Box project on Wednesday, October 14, at 6 p.m. at the Searchlight Community Center, 200 Michael Wendell Way, Searchlight, Nevada.

ZAP! 18 consists of three Clark County artists who were chosen to paint nine utility boxes across the town of Searchlight. These artists were chosen for their unique styles, thoughtful designs, and connection to the area’s surrounding community.

“The ZAP! program continues to bring creativity and character to our communities by transforming utility boxes into works of art,” said Commissioner Michael Naft. “ZAP! 18 celebrates the history and spirit of Searchlight through the creativity of talented artists. These vibrant works of art enhance the utility boxes throughout the community while giving residents and visitors another way to experience and appreciate Searchlight.”

Painting began in January 2026 and was completed by August 2026. ZAP! 18 artists include Lee Lanier, Eleazar Mora, and Arthur Richmond. The Public Arts Office invites everyone to join in celebrating these artists’ completed work during the September Searchlight Town Advisory Board meeting.

The ZAP! program was initiated in 2005 by Clark County Parks and Recreation in the Winchester Neighborhood. By turning utility boxes into canvases, the ZAP! Public Art Series brings public art to neighborhoods across the Las Vegas Valley and beyond.
