Clark County’s Public Arts Office, in partnership with Film Nevada, a division within the Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED), is proud to present a one-time Short Film Showcase at the Winchester Dondero Cultural Center, 3130 McLeod Drive, on October 23 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. This free, public special event is the inaugural partnership between the two organizations. It was created as a non-competitive hub where local filmmakers and film enthusiasts can network and share their dedication to the craft of storytelling. Designed as a one-off community celebration, the program will feature back-to-back screenings of short films by Southern Nevada filmmakers, with a 15-minute intermission midway through the evening.

"I couldn't be more excited to partner with Film Nevada to bring our community this free, one-time short film showcase,” said Chairman Tick Segerblom. “This event isn't just about watching great cinema; it's about providing a non-competitive space for our local filmmakers and film enthusiasts to connect. Supporting the arts is vital to our economic and cultural health, and I'm proud to help debut this fantastic platform for storytelling."

“We are proud to partner with Clark County and the Winchester Dondero Cultural Center to showcase the remarkable talent of our local independent filmmakers,” said Danette Tull, deputy director of Film Nevada. “This event creates a welcoming space for filmmakers to experience their work on the big screen without the financial pressure of securing a venue. It’s a celebration of creativity, community, and the growing strength of our local film scene.”

Featured filmmakers include Hisonni Mustafa (2025 Best Nevada Documentary Winner, Legend Has It: The Remarkable Rise of Stephen McCain), Shahab Zargari, Jakim Jarel, Joanieve Cooper, Rubi Rodriguez, Aari Kabari, and Evelyn Choi. The evening will also highlight Arecibo Films and filmmaker Zachary Fried, with the Clark County Public Arts Office debuting its first short film production.
