Public Invited to Menorah Lighting and Sign Ceremony Honoring Chabad's 35 Years

Clark County Commissioner Michael Naft invites the public to two Chanukah celebrations recognizing the Festival of Lights and honoring Chabad of Southern Nevada's 35 years of service to the community.

“I’m proud to once again invite the Clark County Community to our annual Menorah Lighting Celebration at the Clark Coury Government Center and Welcome Sign Lighting Ceremony,” said Commissioner Michael Naft. “Lighting the menorah each night of Chanukah is a powerful symbol of hope, perseverance, and of light triumphing over darkness.”

“On behalf of Chabad of Southern Nevada and the Dancing Dreidels, I’m deeply grateful to Clark County for partnering with us to help spread the light of Chanukah,” said Rabbi Levi Harlig, Program Director and Rabbi at Chabad of Southern Nevada. “This collaboration reflects the County’s true commitment to community, inclusion, and celebrating the rich diversity that makes Southern Nevada so special.”

Las Vegas Sign Lighting Ceremony Commissioner

Naft will host a special ceremony at the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign on Tuesday, Dec. 16, at 4 p.m. to celebrate Chanukah and honor Chabad of Southern Nevada's 35 years of service. The iconic landmark will be illuminated in blue and white to celebrate the Festival of Lights and recognize Chabad's decades of bringing hope, unity and compassion to the region.

The event will feature the presentation of a proclamation recognizing Chabad of Southern Nevada for 35 years of dedicated service.

This year, Chanukah begins at sundown on Sunday, Dec. 14, and continues through Monday, Dec. 22. The eight-day festival commemorates the rededication of the Temple in Jerusalem and celebrates the triumph of light over darkness.

During Chanukah, Chabad of Southern Nevada leads the region's most extensive holiday outreach, organizing more than 60 public celebrations annually across major resorts, sports arenas, universities, hospitals, military bases and community gathering spaces. Chabad's year-round programs include youth education, campus outreach, senior support, hospital visitation, food assistance and the Friendship Circle programs for individuals with disabilities.
