The Clark County Public Arts Office presents an open call for art for SOLO SERIES a juried group exhibition at the Pearson Community Center, 1625 West Carey. Submissions are due Tuesday, July 8th, at 11:59 p.m. Those interested can apply at https://clarkcountynvpublicarts.submittable.com/submit.
This open call with the SOLO SERIES Juried Exhibition will provide opportunities for four local, emerging, and under-recognized artists in Las Vegas. Each of the four selected artists will have the opportunity to present an exhibition at the Pearson Gallery for eight weeks between August and May. Additionally, each artist is required to teach a workshop related to their exhibit. Artists will be selected by a blind jury, which consists of members who have a connection to the Historic Westside community.
This is a paid educational opportunity where artists will learn about curatorial practices, public speaking, workshop facilitation, invoicing and self-promotion. Artists will be tasked with installing their exhibition under the guidance of a curator. A payment of $600 will be given upon successful completion of the exhibition, workshop, and de-installation.
The gallery program aims to present fine art exhibits that educate and enlighten residents and visitors of Clark County, Nevada. The Public Arts Office operates three galleries: the Rotunda Gallery at the Clark County Government Center, the Winchester-Dondero Cultural Center, and the Gallery at Pearson Community Center.
