Commissioner Naft Hosting Events on Feb. 23 in Laughlin, Searchlight

Clark County Commissioner Michael Naft invites residents in Laughlin, Searchlight and neighboring communities to join him for a variety of activities and events taking place throughout the day on Thursday, Feb. 23

The day kicks off at 8:30 a.m. with a Coffee with a Cop conversation at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Laughlin and will wrap up with a cleanup in partnership with Get Outdoors Nevada at Rex Bell Jr. Park in Searchlight. Other activities will take place at the County’s Regional Government Center in Laughlin including a water safety roundtable discussion and an open house for residents to learn about a roadway rehabilitation project starting this spring to remove and replace asphalt in residential areas of the township. The nearly $7 million Clark County Public Works Department project will cover about 9 miles of roads.

“All residents of Clark County, including the majority of District A residents who live in unincorporated townships, deserve to benefit from the robust services we provide,” said Commissioner Naft. “I am pleased to once again join our dedicated Laughlin staff, who service the south County daily, for a series of events and meetings focused on issues most important to the community.” 

The schedule of activities on Feb. 23 is as follows:

  • 8:30 a.m. Coffee with a Cop & Commissioner Naft, St. John Baptist Catholic Church, 3055 El Mirage Way, Laughlin
  • 9:30 a.m. Water Safety Roundtable, Regional Government Center, 101 Civic Way, Laughlin
  • 11:10 a.m. Double Shot Coffee Shop Ribbon Cutting, 3100 Needles Highway
  • 11:30 a.m. Laughlin Library Tour, 2840 Needles Highway
  • 1:30 p.m. Laughlin Roads Open House, Regional Government Center
  • 3:30 p.m. Rex Bell Jr. Park Cleanup, 200 Michael Wendell Way, Searchlight, NV

District A includes the southeast Las Vegas Valley, parts of Henderson and Southern portions of Clark County including Laughlin, Nelson, Searchlight and Cal-Nev-Ari, and Primm and Jean east of the I-15.
