Clark County Commissioner Jim Gibson will host Workforce Connections' Mobile One-Stop Career Center at the Whitney Community Center, 5712 Missouri Ave., for three consecutive Tuesday mornings by appointment only.
The mobile unit will be in the parking lot of the community center on Tuesday, July 21; Tuesday, July 28; and Tuesday, August 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. To schedule an appointment, please call Nazin Hernandez at (702) 831-0635 or email him at firstname.lastname@example.org. A limited number of appointments are available each day and will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.
At the mobile unit, One-Stop Career Center staff can offer community members one-on-one help with their job search, resume development, job interview preparation, and referrals to employment resources and training opportunities. The assistance is free. Please note, One-Stop Career Centers are not unemployment offices and staff do not have direct access to the state unemployment system.
"We know this is an uncertain time, and we want to help people get back on their feet as soon as possible," said Commissioner Gibson, whose Commission District G includes the Whitney Community Center. "Staff at the One-Stop Career Centers offer no cost help to anyone considering a career change or needing to find employment. I am proud to partner with One-Stop to provide convenient access to these vital services."
Members of the public will be required to wear facial masks inside the mobile unit and to socially distance. Appointments are required due to capacity limitations. Temperature scanning also will take place at the door to protect the health of guests and staff. For more information on One-Stop Career Centers please visit nvcareercenter.org.
