The Emergency Solutions Grants program, formerly the Emergency Shelter Grants Program, is a competitive grant that awards funds to private nonprofit organizations in Clark County to provide the services necessary to help persons who are at-risk of homelessness or homeless quickly regain stability in permanent housing. The ESG program is funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
Eligible Activities
The ESG program may allow funding for the activities below:
- Street Outreach
- Emergency Shelters
- Essential Services
- Rapid Re-Housing
- Homeless Prevention
- Applying for Funding
Clark County Social Service Community Resources Management Unit releases a Request for Proposals (RFP) every year with guidelines to apply for ESG funds. This announcement is usually released in November.

The ESG program is complex with different requirements including specific eligibility, reporting, and environmental requirements. Organizations interested in applying for ESG funds are advised to carefully review the program requirements established by HUD.
