Citizen Participation

Community Development Advisory Committee (CDAC)
In 1982, when Community Resources Management (now known as the Community Housing Office) began implementing the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, the Community Development Advisory Committee (CDAC) was created. This citizen committee plays a vital role in reviewing and recommending projects to the Board of County Commissioners for federal, state, and local funding consideration.
The committee consists of more than 30 members, including town board representatives, at-large community members appointed by the Board of Commissioners, and representatives selected by our consortium members CDAC convenes several times annually in the winter and early spring to provide funding recommendations for the Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG), Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), and the HOME/AAHTF Program.
