Homebuyer Education

To purchase a home through the Welcome Home CLT, all members of the household (18+) who will be applying for the mortgage loan and/or will be on the title for the home, must each attend a Homebuyer Education Class. You must receive a certificate of completion for each session, which you will be required to submit during the application process.

These classes cover the following:

• How to prepare your finances to be in a position to purchase a home
• How to find special programs that can help with closing costs and down payment
• How to navigate the homebuying process
• How to work with a lender and a home inspector
• How to maintain long-term homeownership

We are pleased to partner with HUD-Approved Counseling Agencies, who will offer the Homebuyer Education Class. There are several options to attend this class, including in-person or virtual options, different days and times, and English & Spanish options.

Please review each agency and their availabilities below and complete this Form to select one. When completed the agency selected will receive your information and reach out to schedule your class.

OPTION A – Chicanos Por La Causa (CPLC)

CPLC offers in-person classes on Saturday and Fridays

Class sessions offered:

• Spanish sessions: every 3^rd and 4^th Saturday and 2^nd Friday of the month
• English sessions: every 1^st and 2^nd Saturday and 1^st Friday of the month

OPTION B – Community Services of Nevada (CSNV)

CSNV offers virtual classes on Wednesdays

Class sessions offered:

• Spanish sessions: every 3rd Wednesday of the month
• English sessions: every 4th Wednesday of the month

Nevada Partners offers monthly in-person classes (and some virtual classes) both in English and Spanish.

OPTION D – Navicore

Navicore offers two monthly virtual classes in English

Class sessions offered:

• Every 2^nd Tuesday of the month
• Every 4^th Thursday of the month
