Homebuyer Education
To purchase a home through the Welcome Home CLT, all members of the household (18+) who will be applying for the mortgage loan and/or will be on the title for the home, must each attend a Homebuyer Education Class. You must receive a certificate of completion for each session, which you will be required to submit during the application process.
These classes cover the following:
- How to prepare your finances to be in a position to purchase a home
- How to find special programs that can help with closing costs and down payment
- How to navigate the homebuying process
- How to work with a lender and a home inspector
- How to maintain long-term homeownership
OPTION A – Chicanos Por La Causa (CPLC)
CPLC offers in-person classes on Saturday and Fridays
Class sessions offered:
- Spanish sessions: every 3rd and 4th Saturday and 2nd Friday of the month
- English sessions: every 1st and 2nd Saturday and 1st Friday of the month

OPTION B – Community Services of Nevada (CSNV)
CSNV offers virtual classes on Wednesdays
Class sessions offered:
- Spanish sessions: every 3rd Wednesday of the month
- English sessions: every 4th Wednesday of the month

Nevada Partners offers monthly in-person classes (and some virtual classes) both in English and Spanish.
