District Attorney

The Clark County District Attorney's Office prosecutes crimes committed in Clark County, and in that prosecutorial capacity represents the people of the State of Nevada in Clark County courts. The Criminal Division of the District Attorney's Office prosecutes complaints that involve allegations of sexual abuse and allegations of physical abuse and neglect related to the abuse of children who are under 18 years of age. The District Attorney has created a Special Victim's Unit (SVU) to which the prosecution of certain child abuse cases, including child sexual abuse cases, may be assigned.

The Clark County District Attorney's Office Juvenile Division – Child Welfare Unit will coordinate with Child Protective Services (CPS) and other law enforcement agencies in accordance of NRS 432B, for the prosecution of parties responsible for the care of children alleged to have been sexually abused.
