"A family recently relocated from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, and their daughter struggled with getting to school safely. Since her mother left for work early and the student didn’t feel comfortable taking the bus due to a previous incident, she sometimes walked a long distance to Jim Bridger Middle School. TPOP connected the family to HopSkipDrive transportation, providing a safe and reliable way to get to school, which significantly improved her attendance."

"Since 2020, I’ve supported Hispanic families in North and East Las Vegas who often face challenges related to citizenship, finances, and language barriers. Many youth must work or care for siblings instead of attending school. One memorable case involved a high school student new to the U.S. who worked late hours to help support his family. He wanted to learn English, so I connected him with CCSD Family Support Center classes and later helped him enroll in adult education. With this support, he became proficient in English, unlocking new opportunities for education, work, and personal growth."

"One of our first TPOP cases involved a youth facing significant mental health challenges, which caused her to avoid school and struggle academically. She was referred for therapy, and after several sessions, her attendance and grades improved. The support also helped strengthen her relationship with her parents, boosting her confidence and motivation. With these resources in place, she successfully returned to school and is continuing to thrive."
