"This family was experiencing homelessness, limited support, and a strained relationship between mother and daughter. I helped meet their basic needs with a furniture voucher and referred them to Shining Star for in-home services due to transportation and follow-up barriers. Both mother and daughter actively engaged, and the youth also participated in mentoring and individual counseling through Hazel Health, creating a foundation for stability, growth, and stronger family connections."

"I supported a Spanish-speaking family dealing with school refusal concerns. During a home visit with a translator, the mother was able to openly express her worries. She requested further support during a follow-up visit to better understand her daughter’s needs and help guide her toward re-engaging with school."
