Clark County Commissioners Tick Segerblom and William McCurdy II announced today a series of Latino Heritage Month events, including “My Immigrant Family,” a special art exhibition created in partnership with the Consulate of Mexico in Las Vegas and the City of Las Vegas. The exhibition will take place on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Clark County Government Center, located at 500 S Grand Central Parkway, Las Vegas, NV 89155.
“This exhibition provides an important opportunity to celebrate the rich cultural contributions of Latino families in our community,” said Commissioner Segerblom. “Through art, we can share stories that connect us all and honor the immigrant experience that has helped shape Clark County.”
“This partnership with the Mexican Consulate and the City of Las Vegas exemplifies our dedication to building bridges between cultures,” said Commissioner McCurdy II. “Through meaningful collaboration, we celebrate the rich diversity that strengthens our entire community throughout Latino Heritage Month and beyond.”
The event will feature works curated by Marianna Romero Martinez, winner of the 2024 Best in Show award. The free public event will include free food and refreshments while supplies last, providing community members with an opportunity to experience the artwork in a welcoming environment. The exhibition is designed to highlight immigrant family stories through visual art, offering visitors a chance to connect with the experiences and perspectives of Latino families in the region.
The ‘My Immigrant Family’ exhibition is part of Clark County's broader Latino Heritage Month programming, which runs throughout September and October. Additional events include the 6th Annual Hidalgo Cultural Event featuring Mexican food, crafts, and cultural demonstrations on September 13 at Winchester Dondero Cultural Center, and the ‘¡Celebrando Nuestra Cultura!’ Clark Couty’s premier Latino Cultural Festival on October 18 at the Clark County Government Center Amphitheater, featuring folkloric dances, live music, cultural exhibitions, and family activities. Latino Heritage Month, observed nationally from September 15 to October 15, celebrates the histories, cultures, and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. All events are free and open to the public. For additional information about Latino Heritage Month programming, visit www.clarkcountynv.gov/latinoheritage.
