In Spring of 2022, the Welcome Home Program and Clark County’s Community Housing Fund (CHF) were created to address the urgent need for housing for low-to moderate-income residents in Southern Nevada, including families, seniors, and those who are employed but unable to find housing they can afford. Since then, the Board of County Commissioners has approved CHF funding of nearly $270 million for 47 housing developments across our community, both new construction and rehab, to ensure that Clark County residents have safe, modern, and most importantly, affordable places to call home. These Welcome Home funds are the first of their kind provided by a local government in Nevada and are helping to build or maintain over 5,600 units of affordable and attainable rental housing. The funds were provided to projects that needed gap financing to supplement federal Low-Income Housing Tax Credits and other financing sources.

In addition, the County has also created the Welcome Home Community Land Trust to create attainable homeownership options for residents. The Clark County Community Housing Office (CHO) also administers the County’s HOME, AAHTF, CDBG, Private Activity Bonds, and other programs that support the development of affordable housing.

Clark County is making a BLM-owned site available for the development of affordable rental housing. The application to apply for this site also includes an opportunity to receive CHF and off-cycle HOME/AAHTF funds for development. The Welcome Home Community Land Trust (CLT) provides homeownership opportunities for low to moderate income first-time homebuyers in Clark County. The County expects to open applications for homebuyers in Fall of 2026. If you would like to receive more information about the CLT as it becomes available, please email CCCLT@ClarkCountyNV.gov.

Through our Community Housing Office, Clark County manages our Private Activity Bond Cap and HUD HOME funds. Both programs are available to attainable housing developers.
