2026 Back to School Gear Giveaway for Foster Care
Nearly 1500 youth in foster care will be heading back to school. Show your support by getting involved in the 2026 Back-to-School Gear Giveaway for Foster Care.
Volunteers needed July 28-31. This is a wonderful group or individual volunteering opportunity. Help with moving event supplies, setting-up stations, and assisting youth in foster care pick out their back-to-school gear, like new shoes, backpacks, and more!

Spring Egg Hunt & Caregiver Resource Fair
Commissioner William McCurdy II, Clark County Family Services, and our Spring Egg Hunt Community Committee hosted 1000 children in foster care and their caregivers at the Spring Egg Hunt & Caregiver Resource Fair!
This beloved annual celebration treated for children in foster care to a fun-filled day to build positive memories and experience the joys of childhood. During the Caregiver Resource Fair, foster, relative, and kinship caregivers met with nearly 50 community resource providers. Organizations offered services to support every aspect of raising children in foster care.

GIVE JOY Holiday Toy & Gift Card Drive
Program Overview & Impact
Clark County's GIVE JOY Holiday Toy and Gift Card Drive served just under 3,100 children in foster care this holiday season with the help of the GIVE JOY Community Committee and the Proud Partners of Clark County Foster Care. The community-driven initiative united 176 donors, sponsors and toy drive hosts, and 326 volunteers to ensure every child in the County's foster care system received gifts this holiday season.
“We are incredibly grateful to our community partners, donors, and volunteers who came together to make this year's GIVE JOY event a tremendous success,” said Jennifer Erbes, Family Services Manager for Clark County Family Services. “The generosity and compassion demonstrated by our community ensures that children in foster care know they are valued and loved during the holiday season. We encourage community members who were touched by this event to consider becoming foster parents. With only 384 licensed foster homes currently serving our community, we need additional families to provide safe, caring placements for children in crisis.”

BACK-TO-SCHOOL GEAR GIVEAWAY FOR FOSTER CARE
Nearly 2000 children and teens started the school year while in foster care in Clark County.
Together, our community prepared kids in care for success this school year by providing new backpacks, school supplies, and new shoes. We are grateful for community partners, donors and volunteers who ensured our children in foster care were ready to return to the classroom.
Thank you to Commissioner Jim Gibson and Commissioner Marilyn Kirkpatrick for sponsoring our Back-to-School Gear Giveaway for Foster Care, held in July at the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix, F1 Grand Prix Plaza.
