Staff Qualifications
Due to the range of services the Audit Department provides, we strive to maintain a well-educated and qualified staff. Each auditor has obtained at least a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, and several have gone on to complete graduate degrees in various fields of study. Collectively, the department has over 100 years of audit and advisory experience, consisting of governmental audit, public accounting and corporate internal audit.
Auditors are encouraged to obtain certifications and participate in professional organizations. As a result, we have individuals with the following certifications:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
- Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
- Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE)
- Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC)
- Internal Audit Practitioner (IAP)
- Certified HIPAA Privacy Security Expert (CHPSE)
- Internal Audit Practitioner (IAP)

In order to remain compliant with Government Auditing Standards, our auditors maintain and improve professional competence by completing at least 80 hours of Continuing Professional Education every two years. At least 24 of these hours are governmentally focused.
