Field Trips

Field Trips at Clark County Wetlands Park

Requests for all Field Trips for the 2026-2027 School Year will be accepted by online forms, to be available on August 19, 2026. Please note, field trip reservations cannot be made by email or phone call. Before completing the forms below, please be prepared with:

Guided Field Trips are available for CCSD grades 3-5 only. Guided Field Trips are held on Thursday mornings October through April from 10 am to 12 pm. Field Trips are all outdoors (weather permitting). The Field Trip experience comprises of small groups of students with Wetlands Park volunteer naturalist educators, which allows for the best chance of wildlife observations. Content for each grade includes activities aligned with the Nevada State Academic Content Standards for Science based on the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).

Guided Field Trips have a firm maximum of 60 students per day. Multiple dates may be requested with a single request form.

Self-Guided “Dragonfly” Field Trips are available to CCSD, private schools, homeschool groups, or any other student groups. Self-Guided Field Trips are scheduled on Wednesdays, October through April. Wetlands Park provides an introduction to students, followed by a self-guided tour of the Nature Preserve and Exhibit Gallery. There is a firm maximum of 60 students per day. Multiple dates may be requested with a single request form.

An advance training class is required for one teacher, teacher’s aide, or chaperone per 30 students. Teachers will receive one CCSD Professional Development credit for attendance.

Request a Dragonfly Self-Guided Field Trip

Virtual Field Trips are free of charge for CCSD or fee-based ($25) for private or home schools. Virtual Field Trips will be scheduled on Tuesdays, October through May. The virtual field trip experience is 30-45 minutes and includes pre-recorded content and live discussion that will take place in Google Classroom. Content was developed for grades 3-5, but all grades may participate. You may also use this form to request a link to a 15-minute video for your independent use (no fee).

Classroom or Assembly Presentations for CCSD only are available on a limited basis. Please contact us at wetlands@clarkcountynv.gov to invite us for an in-person presentation.
