Wetlands Walkers

"A walk in nature is better than a treadmill any day of the week!"

Join Wetlands Walkers!
Your reported miles must be from your walks at Wetlands Park. Anyone can join!

Wetlands Walkers is a self-guided program to help you reach your fitness goals while walking in the beauty and serenity of nature. Participants walk the trails in the Park, track mileage and earn rewards at milestones. Walk the trails with friends, family, or on your own. Each year, the program focuses on a different migratory species that migrates through the park. The goal of the program is for all participants to collectively walk the distance that the focus species migrates each year. Can you help us reach the goal?

Good walking shoes, hat, and water are a must. Camera and binoculars are a plus, because you never know what you might see in the Park!

Join the Walkers for a Kick-Off Hike!
Everyone is invited to the 2024 Kickoff Hike on Sunday, January 14th from 1 pm to 3 pm. Meet other Wetlands Walkers and learn about the program if you are new! This walk starts at the Nature Center and consists of 2-3 miles. Fee: $5. Ages 8+. Register here.

2024: Year of the Yellow-rumped Warbler!

Yellow Rumped Warbler JavaJaunt-1-21-18-16 by David Walker resized smaller

This bird has earned the nickname "butter butt" due to the easily identifiable yellow color on its rump. Its song is a slow, loose, sweet “tuwee-tuwee-tuwee,” usually rising at the end. The "Audubon's" yellow-rumped warbler is found in the mountainous West including Wetlands Park.
