Maryland Parkway Fence Art is a project from Clark County Public Art where artists were hired to create semi-temporary artwork and install them on the chain-link fences that border the Tropicana Wash on Maryland Parkway and Flamingo Road.
The Maryland Parkway Fence Art is in conjunction with the upcoming Bus Rapid Transit route project on Maryland Parkway. This project by the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada will include enhanced transit stations, dedicated lanes, upgraded pedestrian crossings, bike lanes, wider sidewalks, median landscaping, and public art. For more information about this project, please visit: https://www.rtcsnv.com/maryland-parkway/
Artist Valentin Yordanov and art team Holly Lay and Homero Hidalgo were chosen to create transit-themed art to be installed on both sides of Maryland Parkway. Whether on foot or driving by, both installations gave a playful and colorful scene for the public to experience as they pass the Tropicana Wash.
