Angela M. Brommel is a Nevada writer with Iowa roots, and the author of two books, Mojave in July (Tolsun Books) and Plutonium & Platinum Blonde (Serving House Books). Her poetry has been published in the North American Review, The Best American Poetry blog, and many other journals and anthologies. In 2018 she was the inaugural poet of the Red Rock Canyon Artist in Residence program, and in 2022 she was named Clark County Poet Laureate.
Her project, Poetry for Resilience, invited the community to cultivate resilience through interdisciplinary arts performances and workshops, exploration of poetry in the parks and the natural world, and reading and writing poetry as a practice for well-being. A first for the Clark County Poet Laureate program, Angela hosted workshops in Spanish led by local poets, and partnered with Grupo Literario Comala to support their ongoing literary events.
At Nevada State University she serves as Senior Advisor & Executive Director for the Arts.
You can also find her at The Citron Review as Editor-in-Chief and Poetry Editor Review, and as an editorial board member for Tradition Innovations in the Arts, Design, and Media Higher Education.https://www.angelambrommel.com/
