What does Clark County Public Art have in common with the Golden Knights? Artist Juan Muniz, creator of the Golden Misfits caricatures is the guest juror of the Life in Death: Day of the Dead exhibit in conjunction with the Life in Death Festival at the Clark County Winchester Dondero Center and Gallery at 3130 McLeod Dr. Clark County Public Art has curated 43 different works in a variety of interesting mediums from 35 local artists. This annual juried exhibition celebrates the traditional Mexican holiday, El Dia de los Muertos. The exhibit reception will be held on the second day of the festival, Saturday, November 2 from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Juan Muniz and participating artist will be there to meet and great and the Best of Show winner will be announced by Muniz, during the reception. Food and Festivities will continue throughout the two-day celebration from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., November 1 and 2 at Winchester Dondero Cultural Center and Park.

Muniz was born in Mexico and raised in Southern California, Juan Muniz is a toy designer, muralist and fine artist with an art career spanning over 15 years. Juan created the Misfits characters for the NHL’s Vegas Golden Knights. He has shown his unique style of art – a mixture of pop art, pop surrealism, animation and lowbrow - in galleries from prestigious locales such as Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New York, Japan, San Francisco, and Taipei.

The Day of the Dead exhibit runs from October 15 through November 16. The show features the following artist in 3 categories (Youth, Amateur and Professional):

Youth: Ariane Arenas, Ellie Bostedt, Andrea Jozuchin Figeroa, Chloe Flock, Carlos Luna, Mirian Garcia-Rincon, Jocelyn Grecco, Sarah Nova, Dylan O’Neil, Alena Patrakova, Kayla Perez, Blain Pineda, Brianna Roberson, Angel Tanguay.

Amateur: Martha Hall, Cassiel Garcia, Vanessa Maciel, Reyna Martinez, Jamie Zepeda.

Professional:  Anna Arphan, Lisa Bedow, Lanelle Elizabeth Christman, Lisa Fields Clark, Eudier Kay'o D.A. Diestro, Ela Giron, Julia G. Hall, Sylvia Hawksley, Bobbie Ann Howell, Monica James, Meghan Jones, Lance Olson, Jamari Rodriguez, Tina Stergios, Charee Tarrant, Isaias Hiram Urrabazo.
