The Assessor's Office is required by Nevada law to discover, list, and value all property within the County subject to taxation. The office investigates all deaths by violence, criminal means, suicide, or any unattended death, regardless of cause. Certified Medicolegal Death Investigators respond to scenes and perform death investigations that include taking custody of the decedent(s), interviewing witnesses and family members, establishing legal next of kin, making death notifications, securing personal property, and confirming positive identification. Board Certified Forensic Pathologists conduct examinations and determine the cause and manner of death. Forensic Technicians assist with the examinations and positive identifications. Administrative personnel manage the administration of the office and create electronic death registration records. The Clark County Office of the Coroner/Medical Examiner is the only coroner's office in the United States that is accredited by both the International Association of Coroners & Medical Examiners (IACME) and the National Association of Medical Examiners (NAME).

The department’s role and mission is to hold juvenile offenders accountable for their behavior, while simultaneously assisting those offenders and their families by providing meaningful treatment, services, and programs. DJJS is a comprehensive public agency that performs more than the traditional juvenile justice functions of probation and detention. For delinquent youth who are 18 and under, the department provides services for intervention, guidance, detainment, treatment, counseling and accountability.

The Harbor, the Juvenile Assessment Center, opened on October 17, 2016 and has provided services to over 10,000 youth and families. The mission of the Harbor is to provide a safe place for guidance and to be responsive to the well-being of youth, families, victims, and the Clark County community by providing meaningful services to youth and families to address their immediate needs. Various providers have partnered with the Harbor. The types of programming these providers offer include tutoring, mentoring, drug education, conflict resolution, anger control, social skills training, job skills development, counseling sessions, cognitive behavioral therapy, and a variety of other programs. Families can call the Harbor to schedule an appointment or agencies can send referrals to the Harbor's website. Law enforcement agencies can divert youth from Juvenile Justice by bringing youth directly to the Harbor. All services are free.

The Harbor can provide a range of behavioral health services. These services consist of face-to-face interventions (e.g. individual counseling and psycho-educational programming), service linkage, as well as reducing behavioral health symptoms, substance use and/or abuse, personal distress, and stabilizing recipients and/or families to their highest level of functioning. Our services are strength-based and utilize the identified strengths and assets of each youth to address behavioral health symptoms. All youth are screened to identify any mental health and/or therapeutic needs.

The office, by state statute, is required to take care of individuals when no family members or friends are able, willing, or appropriate to serve on behalf of the proposed protected person that cannot function in his or her daily environment such as making proper health care or financial decisions, or performing basic self-care tasks such as feeding and bathing. The department delivers a wide range of services to the community that primarily involve the design, construction, inspection, and maintenance of essential infrastructure such as roadways, bridges, traffic control devices, flood control facilities, and trails for public use. Other services include the review, permitting, and inspection of off-site development and utility work, land survey, vector control to abate pests in public right-of-way, and Call Before You Dig to locate County facilities. The Recorder’s Office is a public record office, serving the cities of Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Henderson, Boulder City, Laughlin, Mesquite, and all of unincorporated Clark County. The District is the largest wastewater agency in the State of Nevada, serving more than 267,000 business and residential accounts. With six different treatment sites, "The Clean Water Team" collects more than 105 million gallons of wastewater each day, treating and producing clean water that is safely returned to the environment.
